Our story

Saltamontes was born from a love of art, tradition, and fine craftsmanship. Its name — “grasshopper” in Spanish — symbolizes creativity, vitality, and hope: the spirit that moves everything we do.

We create silk and wool scarves printed with artworks by neurodivergent artists from the  Debajo del Sombrero Association in Madrid. Each design is produced in a limited edition, embodying authenticity and purpose — transforming art into something both beautiful and functional.

Inspired by Japanese minimalism, our silk scarves can be used as Furoshiki — folded and tied into handbags or worn as scarves — while our wool pieces are designed for timeless, effortless wear.

Through our collaboration with Debajo del Sombrero, we celebrate individuality and the power of Art Brut — pure, intuitive artistic expression that transcends the canvas. Ten percent of every sale supports the Association and its talented artists.

Founded by Daniela Macías in Spain, an art advisor with a background in fine arts and design, Saltamontes reflects a belief that fashion can embody both purpose and beauty.
